📌 The Role:
- Position: Lead / Head Dental Nurse
- Employment Term: Permanent
- Practice Type: Mixed (predominantly private)
- Days: Monday – Friday (5 days, Friday half-day)
- Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 08:15 – 18:15
- Friday: 08:15 – 13:15
- Software: Dentally
- Dentistry: General, Orthodontics, Implants, Invisalign
- £17 – £19 per hour 💸 (reflective of experience and leadership capability)
- Established 4-surgery private-led mixed practice
- Strong patient base with a focus on high-quality, modern dentistry
- Clinical scope includes:
- General Dentistry
- Orthodontics
- Implants
- Invisalign and cosmetic treatments
- Fully digital workflow using Dentally software
- On-site parking available plus convenient residential parking nearby 🚗
- A supportive but structured environment where leadership and initiative are genuinely valued
- Leading the day-to-day running of the dental nursing team with confidence and authority
- Acting as the clinical and organisational lead for nursing standards across the practice
- Training, mentoring, and developing nurses at all levels 📚
- Implementing and improving systems, workflows, and clinical processes
- Supporting clinicians chairside across a range of treatments including orthodontics, implants, and Invisalign cases
- Ensuring full compliance with cross-infection control, CQC standards, and clinical governance
- Driving a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
- Identifying areas for improvement and confidently leading change within the practice
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of nursing staff
Essential:
- Experienced GDC-registered Dental Nurse
- Proven ability to work confidently in a busy clinical environment
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to take ownership and accountability
- Excellent communication skills with a calm, assertive, and professional approach
- Confident in training, guiding, and supporting others
- Motivated, proactive, and comfortable driving standards and change
- Previous experience in a Lead / Head Nurse or senior nursing role
- Background in private or mixed dentistry
- Exposure to orthodontics, implant, or Invisalign workflows
- ASAP
