Position: Dental Nurse (Permanent, Part-Time option available)
Contract Type: Mixed Practice – mainly NHS, with some private treatments
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Days & Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:15–17:30 (No weekends)
Start Date: ASAP
💷 Salary:
  • Qualified: Up to £15.50/hour
  • Trainee (6+ months experience): £12–£13/hour
Specialties we cover: General Dentistry, Orthodontics, Prosthetics, Endodontics, and Aligners.

We are expanding and seeking a reliable, adaptable, all-round Dental Nurse (or an enthusiastic trainee with 6+ months’ experience) who can slot into our busy daily routine and thrive in a multidisciplinary setting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Your role will be varied and engaging, with opportunities to work alongside different clinicians and disciplines. Key responsibilities include:

Chairside Assistance
  • Providing professional, efficient chairside support to dentists and specialists in General, Ortho, Prosthetics, Endo, and Aligner treatments.
  • Anticipating clinical needs and ensuring procedures run smoothly.
Patient Care
  • Making patients feel comfortable, reassured, and informed at every stage of their visit.
  • Supporting nervous or anxious patients with empathy and professionalism.
Clinical & Administrative Duties
  • Preparing surgeries before appointments and ensuring thorough decontamination and infection control between patients, in line with HTM 01-05 standards.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records.
  • Sterilising and organising instruments and materials.
  • Managing stock levels, checking deliveries, and liaising with suppliers.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Upholding CQC and GDC standards in all aspects of your work.
  • Following cross-infection protocols without exception.
Teamwork
  • Assisting colleagues during busy clinics or covering reception duties where needed.
  • Contributing to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.

Desirable:
  • Experience in multiple dental disciplines
  • Confidence in using SOE
  • GDC registration (for qualified applicants)
