The OpportunityWe are currently recruiting for a GDC Registered Dental Nurse to join a friendly mixed dental practice in Lancing, West Sussex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Dental Nurse looking for a full-time position within a supportive practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and professional chairside assistance to the dentist.
- Ensure the correct equipment, instruments and materials are available for each appointment.
- Maintain high standards of infection control, sterilisation, cleanliness and surgery preparation.
- Ensure all clinical equipment is used correctly and maintained in accordance with manufacturers' guidance.
- Support the care, comfort and welfare of patients throughout their visit.
- Accurately maintain patient clinical records and ensure all information is securely stored.
- Assist with radiographs, including developing radiographs and maintaining radiographic solutions where required.
- Complete laboratory forms and maintain accurate records of laboratory work.
- Monitor surgery stock levels and ensure materials and supplies are replenished when required.
- Follow all health & safety, COSHH, PPE, waste disposal and infection control procedures.
- Liaise effectively with reception to ensure smooth patient communication and transfer of records.
- Attend practice meetings and complete relevant training and CPD.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical emergency and CPR procedures.
- Follow practice policies, procedures and professional standards at all times.
- Assist with reception duties when required to support the smooth running of the practice.
- GDC registration is essential.
- Previous experience working as a Dental Nurse.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A professional, friendly and patient-focused approach.
- Good understanding of infection control and clinical procedures.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
- £14 per hour
- Full-time position – 32.5 hours per week
