Looking to develop your Dental Nursing career in a specialist area?
A friendly and established orthodontic practice is looking for a GDC-registered Dental Nurse to join its team on a fixed-term basis from September 2026 through to May 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Dental Nurse who is interested in orthodontics and wants to gain valuable specialist experience. Previous orthodontic experience isn't essential, with full in-house training provided, including orthodontic nursing and dental photography.
Whether you're already experienced in orthodontics or currently working within general dentistry and looking for something new, you'll be supported throughout your training and development.

Thursday & Friday – essential
There may also be opportunities to pick up additional ad-hoc shifts Monday–Wednesday, depending on practice requirements.

Friday: 08:45–16:30
💷 Salary
£14.00–£15.50 per hour DOE
The practice is open to Dental Nurses from a general dentistry background who are keen to learn and develop within orthodontics.

You'll work alongside orthodontic clinicians across a range of treatments, including:
Fixed braces
Removable appliances
Retainers
Digital dental photography
General orthodontic patient care

🎓 Full Training Provided
You don't need to have worked in orthodontics before.
The practice will provide training in:
⭐ Orthodontic Dental Nursing
⭐ Dental photography
⭐ Practice-specific procedures and workflows
⭐ Specialist clinical processes
You'll also have the opportunity to learn directly from an experienced orthodontic team and build your confidence within the specialty.
🧩 Your Responsibilities
You'll support the clinical team by:
Providing chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures
Preparing and maintaining surgeries
Supporting fixed and removable appliance treatments
Assisting with clinical photography following training
Maintaining excellent infection prevention and cross-contamination standards
Preparing equipment and materials for treatment
Supporting efficient clinic flow
Helping patients feel comfortable and reassured
Working closely with clinicians and the wider practice team

Essential:
✔ GDC-registered Dental Nurse
✔ Available every Thursday and Friday
✔ Reliable, organised and professional
✔ Excellent patient care skills
✔ Friendly and approachable manner
✔ Positive attitude towards learning
✔ Strong team ethic
Desirable, but not essential:
⭐ Previous orthodontic nursing experience
⭐ Dental radiography qualification
⭐ Interest in developing specialist orthodontic skills
The right attitude is more important than previous orthodontic experience. Full training is available for the successful candidate.
